A centerpiece of baskets

Update the classic cornucopia concept with fruit and flowers.

YOU’LL NEED:

  • 6 to 12 water tubes (available at craft stores)
  • Water
  • Scissors
  • 12 to 24 red roses
  • 2 to 4 rectangular baskets, approximately 4" tall and 10" long ($13; at Jo-Ann)
  • Newspaper (enough to half-fill each basket)
  • 4 to 8 small bunches of red grapes

Fill tubes halfway with water. Trim stems of roses. Insert two or three stems into each tube.

Stuff bottom of baskets with crumpled newspaper, cover with grapes and tuck a tube of roses in among them.

Assemble two baskets to place in center of a round or square table, or make four to run length of a longer table.
