MATERIALS: 10 yogurt cups, metallic acrylic paint, small paintbrush, scissors, ribbon, tulle, string of 50 small Christmas lights, X-acto knife.
1. Paint bottom half of yogurt cups gold. You might need two coats of paint for full coverage.
2. While cups are drying, cut ribbon and tulle into 80 6" x 1 1/2" strips. Knot ribbon and tulle pieces evenly along strand of lights, alternating between tulle and ribbon.
3. Once cups have completely dried, use X-acto knife to cut an X into center of bottom of each one. Push first lightbulb in strand through X hole in cup. Count three bulbs, then push fourth one through hole in another cup. Count three bulbs, then push fourth one through hole in another cup. Keep working this way along strand of lights until all cups contain a bulb. Hang the strand on a mantel, around a doorway or down a banister.
