Collect shells on the beach (or at a craft store) to make unique home accents
Place it around the base of a glass hurricane for a dressy look.
• Glue gun and glue
• Metal craft ring
1. Glue shells onto ring in sets of three so they look like an upturned flower.
2. When most of ring is covered, position single shells in gaps at base of ring. Secure with glue and let dry.
Turn a shell upside down. Glue a smaller shell, right side up, onto it. Glue a magnet to smaller shell. Let glue harden before using magnet.
Drill tiny holes in individual shells and then string the shells onto twill tape. Tie them around napkins in a complementary color. Use a craft drill to make the holes in the bottom of the shells. You can order twill tape ($1 per yard) from Mokuba New York (212-247-4888).
