Create a backyard haven for your children this summer with this easy, inexpensive craft project
Summer is all about spending time outdoors, which can be especially magical for children. This year, try making an outdoor play tent, great for reading, eating lunch, or just a spot of shade. The supplies are likely already around your home, and no sewing is required.
First create a corner. Cut a piece of rope about 10” long, then knot the ends to form a circle. Place rope loop at one corner of the sheet, then fold the edge of the sheet through the rope loop and secure with safety pin. Repeat to form three other corners.
Tie a length of rope between two trees or other structures, about three feet off the ground.
Lay sheet over the rope. Loop one corner of the sheet around a stake and hammer stake into ground. Repeat with three remaining corners, pulling taught.
