YOU'LL NEED
- 2 shoelaces
- Measuring tape
- Pipe insulation (8" longer than mailbox height)
- Newspaper
- Duct tape
- Man’s shirt
- Monster glove (longer than wrist-length)
- 18" wooden dowel
- Hammer
- Fishing line
- Scissors
- Safety pins
- To make forearm, tie shoelace 12" from end of insulation; cinch. To make elbow, tie second shoelace 4" up from first; cinch. Remaining insulation will be
- upper arm.
- Wrap newspaper around upper arm and forearm; secure with tape. Create elbow using balled-up newspaper; tape to insulation. Slide arm through shirtsleeve.
- Slip glove onto arm. Tape glove to newspaper.
- Position dowel 4" to 6" in front of mailbox post. Angle dowel away from post; use hammer to drive dowel into ground. Slide upper arm onto dowel. Bend elbow and position palm under mailbox. Tie arm to post using fishing line.
- Slide fishing line through mounting hole on side of mailbox and tie around pointer finger to keep hand in place.
- Wrap shirt around base of arm to hide newspaper; pin in place. Pile dirt and leaves around base to hide where it meets ground.
