Save money and easily update a piece of furniture with our tips for refurbishing wood, wicker, ceramic, plastic and more.
Make cracked and peeling wicker furniture look new in a snap.
First, clean using dish soap, a sponge and warm water.
- To scuff the finish so paint will adhere better, rinse using a hose with a sprayer set to a powerful jet.
- Allow furniture to dry thoroughly in the sun for a few days.
Then, paint using a premium all-purpose oil-based spray primer.
- Spraying works best for wicker’s uneven surface but you should brush paint on non-wicker parts.
- To match the two hues, spray some paint on white cardboard and bring swatch to a paint store.
