Craft this DIY pop-up Valentine's card makes good use of a hardware store freebie with our step-by-step instructions
This adorable (and oh-so-easy) homemade card puts the paint swatches you have lying around from your last home improvement project to good use. Simple construction paper makes a good substitute in a pinch.
Trim paint swatches so that they are individual colors, being sure to cut off any white borders. Fold each paint swatch in half lengthwise with the color facing out. Cut out a heart from each color, trying to keep the hearts around the same size.
Thread the needle and tie a knot at the top left hand corner of the card. Sew through each heart, keeping the hearts in order from lightest to darkest or vice versa. Tie a knot of the top right hand corner of the card, keeping the tension tight in the thread so that the card doesn't open all the way up. Trim any loose threads.
