Do a little sleuthing
Do you belong to BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco, or Sam’s Club? Check the gas prices there. Warehouse clubs can have the best deals on fuel. Also look for supermarkets that sell gasoline. Your frequent-shopper card might entitle you to a discount. When you’re on the road, avoid stations near highways; they often charge more. And check Web sites such as autos.msn.com (click on “Gas Prices”) and gasbuddy.com to see what nearby stations are charging. Gasbuddy.com will even text prices to your mobile phone (text “gasbuddy” and your zip code to 368266).
