Organize Your Junk Drawer
1. Dump the drawer our and decide what stays and what goes. Toss obvious trash and sort for duplicate items (like an extra pair of scissors and pens), put in a ziplock bag and store
in a closet.
2. Divide and conquer. Buy a premade organizer (or make one yourself by using old jewelry and check book boxes or Tupperware containers). You can even use an ice cube tray or the bottom of an egg carton for smaller items like paper clips and safety pins. Be sure to leave an open compartment for random items with nowhere else to go.
3. Corral your cords. Neatly loop each cord and insert it inside a toilet paper tube. Then be sure to label each tube to cut down on the confusion and make it easier to find your iPhone charger at a moment's notice.
4. Separate your papers. Clip each type of paper (receipts, takeout menus, coupons, etc.) together with a papeclip or clothespin. When you have a chance use business cards to populate your address book, then toss.
