Bank records: Contact your bank or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) at www.fdic.gov.

Insurance policies: Find your insurance company at www.disasterinformation.org.

Medical records: Contact your doctor or insurance company.

Passport: Visit travel.state.gov/passport.

Social Security card: Visit www.socialsecurity.gov/online/ss-5.html.

Tax records: Get form 4506 from the IRS at www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc156.html.

Warranties (electronics, cars): Call the company from which you made the purchase.

Know your credit score: Get a free copy of your credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com.
