What if you could have ice cream, pie or cookies every day and still lose weight? If dessert is your dieting downfall, then this is the plan for you. On the Dessert Lover's Diet you could lose up to five pounds in a month.
When you're trying to watch what you eat, you might automatically think that sweets are bad―strictly forbidden. But eating a little dessert every day can actually be helpful. You won't feel deprived, and since you can have something sweet tomorrow, you'll be less tempted to eat too much dessert today.
HOW THE DIET WORKS
On the Dessert Lover's Diet you can eat one 300-calorie dessert every day. To lose weight and stay healthy, make sure that the rest of your meals total 1,300 calories. Keep your diet rich in fruits,
vegetables, whole grains and "good fats."
Here's all you need to do to get started.
Eat healthy meals.
Our plan includes at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day and plenty of high-fiber whole grains, and it limits
processed foods and refined sugar. Check out the Holiday Food Plan.
Choose one dessert.
You can have one 300-calorie dessert every day (see below). That's big enough to satisfy sweet-lovers who can't stop at one cookie, and small enough to keep your
daily-calorie intake low.
Balance your fats.
Desserts can be rich in "bad fats," like butter, so the following meal plan includes foods high in "good fats," like omega-3
fatty acids from fish.
Eat small portions of the desserts you love, and you'll still be able to lose weight!
