Secure a flu shot
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the vaccine for almost everyone. People likely to suffer complications from flu, such as children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years, pregnant women, and people older than 50, need the vaccine the most. Babies younger than 6 months are vulnerable but cannot be vaccinated, so other members of the household should get the shot to avoid catching and spreading the virus. If you have an egg allergy, talk to your family doctor and your allergist, because the shot contains small amounts of egg protein.
