GET THE LOOK

Think pink. Avoid hues that are muddy or frosty. If you're fair, tint lips and cheeks with a pale petal-pink shade. A rosy pink flatters medium complexions. If you have dark skin, go for berry or fuchsia.

Prep lips. Since you want them plump and hydrated, coat your lips with a waxy balm. Let it sink in for a few minutes, then wipe off excess. Apply a light coat of a creamy rose-tinted lipstick.

Enhance eyes subtly. To look pretty but not too dolled up, keep the eyes neutral. Sweep on a beige or taupe shadow, then softly define them with brown, khaki or eggplant. Finish with a light coat of mascara on top lashes only.

PLAY IT UP

Rim your eyes. Use charcoal liner to add drama in seconds.

PLAY IT DOWN

Minimize lips. For a sweet but subtle hint of color, try a tinted lip balm.
