  1. Prep skin. Dot foundation onto your freshly moisturized face, smoothing outward. To find your exact color, try one of the new smart foundations, like CoverGirl TruBlend liquid makeup ($8; at mass retailers), which will match the shade of your skin perfectly.
  2. Cover and brighten. Hide blemishes with a creamy yellow-based concealer, then lighten dark areas with a dab of highlighter. A dual-tip pen, like Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector ($9; at mass retailers), does both, plus it's great for touch-ups on the go.
  3. Control shine. Dust a light-diffusing translucent powder like Good Skin Soft Reflection illuminating powder ($18; at Kohl's) over the T-zone―nose, chin and forehead―to absorb oil and minimize the appearance of lines and pores.
