To finish your look and reduce shine, dip a big, fluffy brush into translucent loose powder. Tap the brush against your forearm or blow on it to remove excess. Lightly sweep it onto your face―across the forehead and cheeks and down the bridge of your nose to your chin. For midday touch-ups, don’t dust on more powder; soak up oily areas with powder-free blotting papers instead.

A loose finishing powder will leave your makeup looking light and fresh, not matte and dry. Try one with a bit of shimmer like Almay Pure Blends loose finishing powder in Translucent Shimmer ($14; at mass retailers) for a subtle glow.
