Six women, hundreds of options, one common goal: Find the ultimate flattering fit. Here's how they did it -- and how you can, too
For a Short Waist: Downplay an Abbreviated Torso
Shirley, a working mother of two, has a pretty tall denim order to fill: "I want to accentuate my hips, cover my butt and make my legs look good," she says. "Plus, I need to be able to move. My 2-year-old is all over the place!"
The fix: Opt for stretch denim with a no-gap waistband that stays put thanks to hidden elastic. And look for midrise styles. Low-rise versions can be too revealing.
- On Shirley: Layla boot-cut jeans, Riders by Lee, $20 at Walmart
- Another flattering option: Five-pocket boot-cut jeans, Diva, $30 at Old Navy
