Start with better brows
A pair of well-defined eyebrows can make a face look more
polished -- especially when makeup is minimal. Splurge on a
professional shaping, and then maintain the look at home with
weekly tweezings.
Streamline cleansing
If you have oily skin and regularly use a face wash and
toner, try cloths with salicylic acid instead. They clean deeply,
reduce shine and are totally tote-able.
Maximize moisturizer
Don't rely on foundation with sunscreen -- it won't provide
adequate UV protection. Instead apply moisturizer that contains SPF
under your favorite base makeup. Better yet, switch to a tinted
face lotion with built-in SPF and you can swap three products --
moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation -- for one.
Protect your polish
Keep your nail hues from fading or yellowing by choosing a
formula with built-in UV inhibitors. And remember to apply a drop
of cuticle oil over the polish to give your manicure a fresh, shiny
finish -- even if the color is a week old!
Fake a tan
Are you a sloppy self-tanner? Not to worry: Several
companies are now offering easier alternatives to the old
"rub-all-over" method. A few of the new options include: Tanning
gloves (drip-free, quick-drying tanning formulas in a glove
applicator), spray (either from a bottle or at a salon), and simply
mixed into your normal makeup. (Look for tinted moisturizers or
body lotions.)
Lose the eyeliner
Play up your eyes using a wash of summery gold shadow.
Choose a shade based on your skin: The deeper your skin tone, the
darker the shadow.
