Find your best fit in swimwear
Try these tips to pick a bathing suit that flatters from every angle
Think bigger. Swimsuits often run a lot smaller than clothing, so try them on in a size larger than you normally wear in pants or a dress.
Be color savvy. Keep in mind that dark colors minimize and pale ones maximize. So go for dark shades over areas you'd like to look smaller, and light tones where you want more oomph.
Get support for a large bust. Look for a suit with a built-in bra and wide straps. Classic tanks and tankinis are a good option.
Add details to a small bust. Try ruffled or gathered bathing suit tops in bright colors or patterns. Push-up, padded and underwire styles also give the illusion of a more ample bust.
Belittle a bulge. To minimize your tummy or slim your waist, look for suits built with a hidden control panel.
Get help. Ask for a saleswoman's assistance. She'll hone in on the bathing suit that will best show off your shape.
Take a long look. Put the suit on and examine yourself carefully from all angles in a full-length mirror. Move around to make sure nothing rides up or pops out.
