Become a video game pro
ALL YOU recently partnered with AOL's GameDaily.com, a Web site for video gamers, to host a video game boot camp for moms. It was a huge success and the women who attended discovered that video games are easy to learn, fun to play and a great way to bond with families. Try these 10 simple tips from AOL's GameDaily.com and you'll be having tons of fun in no time.
1. Research on the Web. There's a wealth of online gaming resources. Retailers such as , and and info sites like and AOL's can fill you in on what games are coming out and their ratings.
2. Talk to the experts at home. Kids know more than you think. Ask them what they think you'd like to play.
3. Bring games out in the open. Take the gaming system out of the kids' room and keep it in the living room where everyone can enjoy them together.
4. Learn what game ratings mean. The Entertainment Software Rating Board rates games with a system similar to movies, so you know what your kids are playing (and so you'll know what you might like to play as well). Search for game ratings at .
5. Stick with it. Playing video games for the first few times, especially getting the hang of the controls and buttons, can be intimidating, but keep at it. It's not rocket science and with practice you'll pick it up.
